🥽 Today is National Dam Safety Awareness Day. Low-head dams are “drowning machines” and should be avoided. The hydraulic action caused by falling water over the dam creates a circulation of current that will continually suck you back towards the dam. Once caught in the current, the chances of survival are very low even if you are wearing a life jacket.
