Yesterday, the University of Pittsburgh Center for Governance and Markets and University of Pittsburgh School of Business hosted a conference where Pittsburgh entrepreneurs learned how to preserve the legacies they've worked hard to build.

Attendees heard from speakers including Councilperson Erika Strassburger and Mayor Corey O'Connor, who emphasized the vital role small businesses play in the Pittsburgh community. Breakout sessions covered topics from building business resilience and leadership to employee ownership transitions.

Mayor O'Connor captured the spirit of the day well, encouraging business owners by saying:

"By coming here, you were providing an opportunity for local residents who may have never sought it before. And I think that’s the mindset—Pittsburgh is ready to grow."
