Designed to support seniors with limited income, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides $50 vouchers to eligible seniors residing in counties with a program administrator. These vouchers, available from July 1 to September 30, enable seniors to purchase fresh produce, raw honey, and freshly cut herbs from certified farmers. This initiative serves as an extra income source for local farmers and connects vulnerable community members with locally grown food.
If you meet the eligibility criteria and live in a county with a local agency, reach out to them for details regarding the application process and availability. Additionally, if you are a farmer interested in participating, contact your local agency to learn more about certification.

Our partners at NSAC have released a statement on the Senate Farm Bill discussion draft, and as an NSAC member, we're sharing it with our friends.
Farmers need long-term investments in local markets, conservation, and a fairer farm safety net โ not short-term fixes for a food and farming system that isnโt working. Congress must put farmers and their communities at the center of the next Farm Bill.

We believe the Farm Bill must do more to address the farm crisis, support independent farmers, and protect nutrition programs. It must challenge policies that prioritize corporate agribusiness over farmers.

It's Pollinator week! ๐ฆ Did you know that approximately three-quarters of the worldโs flowering plants and around 35 percent of global food crops rely on animal pollinators for reproduction? Farmers can play a crucial role in maintaining healthy pollinator populations by planting native wildflowers on their farms.
Native Species:
๐ Provide food and habitat for pollinators
๐ Support birds and beneficial insects that aid in controlling crop pests
๐ Contribute to the overall health of ecosystems and enhance farm resilience
