Today marks five years since the passing of Jack DeRosset. Uncle Jack was forever at the Model Railroad Shop and a longtime presence in the model railroading community.

Jack had a deep knowledge of the hobby and always made time to help customers find the right parts, troubleshoot their layouts, or just talk shop. His passion for model trains and his commitment to the store made a lasting impression on countless hobbyists over the years.

Five years on, his presence still lingers in every layout, every carefully weathered boxcar, every kid who discovers the magic of model trains for the first time. That’s the legacy Jack left. Not just trains but connection, curiosity, and a love for model railroading.
