The Piqua Fire Department has launched the Youth Firesetting Prevention & Intervention Program aimed at reducing fire-related incidents involving children and adolescents through education, assessment and early intervention. The program is designed to help identify risk factors, teach safe fire behavior and provide families with resources to improve home fire safety.

The initiative is led by Firefighter Paramedic Sarah Ray, a certified Youth Firesetting Intervention Specialist and Fire & Life Safety Educator. The program focuses on addressing firesetting behaviors before they become recurring or dangerous patterns.
