Effective immediately, the burn ban for Jefferson County has been lifted. Citizens are asked to be extremely cautious when burning. Please practice the following safety measures. Attend the fire at all times. Do not burn in high winds and keep a water source close by to control the fire.

Even with rain in the forecast, the burn ban remains in place. A little rain in one area doesn’t mean the whole county is getting it, and conditions are still dry.
We will need significant, widespread rainfall before the burn ban can be lifted. Right now, fire danger remains moderate due to ongoing drought conditions.
