The Bridge
This Sunday, Pastor Brian wrapped up John 1, taking a look at the interaction between Jesus and some of the first disciples. Jesus knew all about Nathanael (one of those first disciples) and his character long before Nathanael ever knew him. The way that Jesus knew Nathanael caused Nathanael to want to know more about Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah that he'd learned so much about.
Jesus knows each and every one of us too. He knows our heart and holds in his hand what each of us are longing for. All we need to do is say yes to Jesus, just like the first disciples.

Have you ever met someone from a place with a poor reputation and completely questioned how there could ever be anything good in them simply because of where they were from? The disciple Nathanael did. Join us at 11 to see what that interaction was like!

This Sunday, Pastor Brian showed us from John 1 that Christ doesn’t focus on our past like we can at times. Instead, he focuses on who we are becoming. As the Lamb of God, he lived his life as a daily sacrifice in service to not only God the Father, but to us as well; he satisfies the hunger in our souls as we feed on His Word; and He is ready to clothe us in the things of himself: tenderhearted mercy, kindness, and humility, to name a few.
When the disciples of John the Baptist began following Jesus, we reflected on the same question Jesus asked them: “What do you want?” We also saw how Andrew was able to leave something good and choose the Best: Jesus. His life was changed because of it and he was excited to tell about it!
This week, let’s continue to reflect on what we want in our relationship with Jesus and why following him is so important to us. Then let’s pray to boldly tell about it, like Andrew!
