Jebidiah Documentary Watermark Time

Edited and ready with extras, the Book of Gates Project DVD is reaching done. Now the hardest part of any video project has come to fruition for any filmmaker - distribution! You will hear many say that making any film is easy, but distributing the film is harder. Especially on an indie level.

The Book of Gates Project: The Legacy of Jebidiah Smith is more a niche product, intended more to market the Yidath Cycle products than be a stand alone 'movie'. But it works in a method.

Here we have the point editor setting up a demo for the screener copy, which is sent to select distributors for review. The video will be watermarked to ensure the screener cannot be used. It's the wild west out there, for sure.

Very pleased to announce that the documentary on the Yidath Cycle is now 99.9% complete with the new segment additions and upgrades. Several extras for the DVD. Currently looking at DVD distribution and streaming options. More to come!

VEIL - Paperback Edition Proof

Wow. Here is is. VEIL: A Hybrid Graphic Novel was delivered to day from Amazon for proofing. I must say it looks pretty nice. I'll have to go over it for a week to ensure there are no issues before release printing. The PROOF copy always has a 'not for resale' tag on it before publication.

The ePub Kindle is also done as a related edition, with new images and a flowable text format. Loaded and ready for release with the print paperback edition. I considered a fixed layout version as well, but it would not work out due to the layout. I'll look at that further with expert help, but it's unlikely.

The paperback is 8.5" x 11" for the comic panels and full page illustrations, with text whole page sections taking up more room. I am pleased that with the grayscale illustrations it turned out better than expected. Color was desired, the pre press was a process for one without experience a harrowing issue. And the higher production costs. So we'll play it out.

VEIL also presets The Bunker Hybrid Graphic Novel,, that was an experiment to see if such a hybrid format would work out. I think it has worked out. So The Bunker is back on slate.

Our trailer man is editing the VEIL trailer as I write, and I am hoping the VEIL package will be out within the week.
