π Did you know a Common Kingsnake can imitate a rattlesnake?
When threatened, kingsnakes may hiss, vibrate their tails in dry leaves, and mimic a rattlesnake's rattle to convince predators to stay away, even though they're nonvenomous.
This fascinating reptile is the featured species in our July Eco-Blitz Challenge.
Visit https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/about-us/eco-blitz/ to learn more about the Common Kingsnake. Who knows? You might even spot one on your next visit to a Maricopa County park! π΅

Nature has a funny way of reminding us that we're not so different from the wildlife around us. These busy ants are hard at work, each playing an important role in keeping their colony running.
