This past weekend, I attended a training on a powerful element of Asian Medicine. Injecting acupuncture points with therapeutic solutions has been a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. On March 22nd, 2022, Governor Ducey signed S.B. 1080 that increased the scope of practice for acupuncturists in the State of Arizona to include Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy (APIT). I was privileged to be 1 of 20 acupuncturists to attend the Very First training class here in Arizona for this game changing therapy. There are a few more steps that need to be taken before the Acupuncture Board will give us the green light to offer this powerful element of TCM to our patients, but when they do, I will be ready to offer this amazing treatment for my patients.
