She has pushed for automatic voter registration and for reforms that make mail-in voting easier. Engel also worked to protect Native American voting rights by standing against efforts to disenfranchise tribal communities. Her commitment to fair, transparent, and secure elections is in line with VRF’s mission to safeguard the right to vote for all Americans.

A firefighter in Phoenix for 20 years, he served his community with pride, supporting his community with service, and eventually being elected to Phoenix City Council. Councilmember Valenzuela championed election reform during his time in City Hall - enhancing access to elections and promoting wider voter participation. He will continue to promote voting rights at the County level, and we are excited to endorse his campaign as a servant of the people and champion of voters rights.
