May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Remember that it’s always okay to pause, check in with yourself and others, and to ask for help. Your mental health is as important as your physical safety. See the poster below for resources available to IUEC members and their dependents - please don’t hesitate to use them.

Today in labor history: On March 23rd, 1932, The Norris-LaGuardia Act passed. This law protects workers’ rights to form unions and strike. It stopped federal courts from blocking nonviolent labor activities and banned “yellow-dog” contracts that forced workers to avoid unions.

The 2026 Annual Tucson Picnic was a huge success!! It’s awesome to see so many members and families enjoying a great day together. Events like this really are a good reminder that the IUEC isn’t just about the jobs we do, it’s about the families that support us at home, it’s about solidarity, looking out for each other, and building a stronger future for our families and our trade. These are the things that make us a Union Family and not just co-workers.
And a huge thank you to all the Brothers and family members who helped make this happen today, you guys put in the work every year to make sure everything is ready, and we all appreciate your efforts. And finally, thank you to everyone that made the trip, your support today and everyday is what keeps Local 140 proud and strong.
