Today, we recognize Juneteenth and reflect on a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. Celebrated on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after it was issued.
It is a time to honor resilience, reflect on history, and continue striving toward a healthier, stronger, and more informed future for our communities.
