⚡ Sharp, Burning Pain In The Ball Of Your Foot? It Could Be Morton’s Neuroma.
Many people are surprised by how suddenly Morton’s Neuroma can develop. What starts as a burning sensation, tingling, numbness, or feeling like you’re walking on a pebble can quickly become a source of significant pain and frustration.
At Valley Foot Care, Inc., this is a common condition we diagnose and treat every day.
While Morton’s Neuroma is often the cause of pain between the toes and ball of the foot, it is important to have a thorough podiatric examination and X-rays to help rule out fractures, arthritis, stress injuries, and other conditions that may mimic its symptoms.
👣 Foot Health Tip: Check Your Shoes!
Shoes that are too narrow or tight can aggravate Morton’s Neuroma by compressing the nerve.
When shopping for shoes:
✔ Choose shoes with a wider toe box
✔ Make sure there is adequate height above the toes
✔ Select shoes with a stiffer sole
✔ When placed on a flat surface, the front of the shoe should curve slightly upward rather than laying completely flat
Sometimes simple shoe modifications can provide relief. If they don’t, there are many additional treatment options available.
Our experienced board-certified podiatrists will help determine the cause of your pain and recommend the treatment plan that is right for you.
Don’t ignore foot pain and hope it goes away.
