I like to fill my plate with colorful vegetables. Today for lunch I made purple cabbage, kale, sweet potatoes, and chicken.

I ran a half marathon over the weekend. I decided to take a different approach to my race day self talk. Usually, I would let my mind wander and if I got uncomfortable I would focus my attention on these thoughts...”My feet hurt” or “I only have 4 miles done...9 miles left”. I was letting my thoughts control me.
For this race, I controlled my thoughts. I dedicated each mile to someone I was grateful for. I knew my friend wanted to PR this race. I dedicated the first mile to her. I wished for her body and mind to be strong and carry her effortlessly across the finish line. I dedicated other miles to my family, kids, clients, husband, and of course myself.
The whole race I was filled with light and love. I never felt uncomfortable.
Self talk is ONE of the most important parts of a healthy lifestyle and fitness program.
