We set out to make an Alien fan film with NO budget, NO crew, and just the gear we had on hand—an iPhone 16 Pro, a pop-up green screen, a 3D-printed prop, and Jimmy G’s custom Weyland-Yutani SG shotgun.
In this behind-the-scenes breakdown, I walk you through the entire process—from previs in Blender to practical effects, DIY lighting hacks, and post-production VFX. You’ll see how we pulled off shots with the Xenomorph, created realistic props like the motion tracker, and made it all work on a shoestring budget.
