Great news everyone! We FINALLY moved into our new office today —> Suite D1! This moving process has been very challenging and exhausting. However, I am so grateful for all the help and all the encouragement we received during this tough time. I’d like to thank God first of all and a big thanks to everyone who helped us along the way! We are seeking a professional and courteous front desk receptionist to join our team. This part-time position offers 27-30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will possess excellent multitasking skills and be proficient in handling telephone calls in a fast-paced doctor’s office environment. I want to thank all of my patients and staff for your support during this office relocation. The construction of this new office suite (D1) is taking longer than expected and it is not ready for us to move in yet. Therefore, we are currently in a temporary office (Suite D4). I’m grateful for this open space that is available for us to function in temporarily 🙏 and I’m sure the wait will be worth it! Great chiropractic adjustments are given no matter what suite we are in! Today marks the start of Black History Month. The chiropractic field has a long-standing history within the black community and if it weren’t for Harvey Lillard, chiropractic care might not be what we see today.

Lillard, a black entrepreneur, was the first patient of Daniel David Palmer in September 1895. 17 years prior, Lillard had lost his hearing, and this prompted Palmer to perform the first ever adjustment. The story goes that Lillard’s hearing was restored, thus making the first adjustment a success.

Throughout the month of February, NCMIC and Starting Into Practice will be posting tidbits of black history throughout the field of chiropractic care.
