I just love seeing those little baby chop faces! 🥰

These sweet parakeets impatiently wait every day for their fresh chop, and watching their excitement never gets old. There’s just something so heartwarming about seeing tiny beaks covered in veggies and fruit.

These are my babies (Jill’s flock), but we do have several parakeets currently available for adoption, as well as some adorable zebra finches looking for homes of their own.

I don’t have current photos of the adoptable birds yet, but I promise I’ll get some posted soon. Stay tuned!

Who else loves a good chop face?

Fresh chop + happy birds = one of the best parts of the day.

There’s something truly special about Eli.

He came from a heartbreaking situation and has completely transformed before our eyes. Once surviving on nothing but grocery store seed because he “didn’t like fruits and veggies,” he now cleans his food bowl like a champ. His feathers have gone from a dull dingy gray back to the beautiful white, yellow, and soft salmon colors he was always meant to have.

Eli has such a sweet personality too. He loves playing with his shadow on the wall, and around here we call him “the daddy” because the flock in Tucson absolutely adores him. They visit him constantly — playing together, preening one another, and yes… occasionally getting into dramatic screaming matches.

Eli will need liver medication for the rest of his life, but he knows the routine better than anyone. Every 12 hours, right on the dot, he’s ready. Sometimes a little early if he thinks I’m running behind. The moment he hears me shake his medicine bottle, he starts preparing himself for our little routine together.

I walk up to his cage, and he gently lifts his little foot to step into my hand 🩷
We snuggle for a bit.
Then it’s “up and over” while I give him his medicine.
More snuggles after.
Then back to his cage.

It may seem small to some people, but these quiet little moments mean everything to me. Watching Eli learn trust, comfort, routine, and love after everything he’s been through has been one of the greatest gifts. He has come such a long way.

Sockatoos are not only premium parrot foraging toys…they are also emergency survival rations 😄

Einstein the Talking Parrot recently discovered this important feature when Marcia accidentally forgot his bird food on an overnight trip. Emergency pasta reserves were immediately extracted from his Sockatoo, prepared, and served.

Thus was born:

🪖 SOCKATOO EMERGENCY SURVIVAL RATIONS 🪖

For use in the event of:
• Natural disaster
• Forgotten bird food
• Zombie apocalypse
• Severe dramatic parrot demands

May also be used as a premium parrot foraging toy.

Thank you to Einstein and Marcia for advancing avian emergency preparedness everywhere 😂
