😭😭😭At 10:28:24 a.m. on September 11, 2001, photojournalist Bill Biggart captured what would become the final photograph of his life. Positioned near the World Trade Center, he continued documenting the unfolding disaster even as conditions grew increasingly dangerous around him......

Moments later, the North Tower collapsed. Bill was killed while reporting from the scene, remaining committed to his work until the very end. In the days that followed, recovery teams searched the devastated area around Ground Zero for victims, survivors, and personal belongings left behind in the destruction.

Four days later, Bill’s remains were recovered along with his scorched press credentials, three damaged cameras, six rolls of film, and one intact compact flash card. That card contained nearly 150 digital images, preserving a powerful visual record of the tragedy. His final photographs became an enduring part of the historical record of September 11, while also serving as a reminder of the journalist behind the camera who never returned home. 🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — Never Forget. 🕊️🗽United we stand, remembering the heroes of September😭🖤💔

American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were hijacked and deliberately flown into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Thousands of people were working inside the towers when the attacks occurred, creating confusion, fear, and an urgent need to evacuate.

As smoke filled offices and stairwells, many people helped coworkers, friends, and strangers find their way to safety. Emergency responders, including firefighters, police officers, and paramedics, rushed to the scene and entered the buildings to assist those trapped inside. Their actions demonstrated extraordinary courage and dedication under unimaginable conditions.

Footage from that day captured heartbreaking scenes of people supporting one another during the crisis. The attacks ultimately led to the collapse of both towers and claimed thousands of lives.
