As an provider, I know the importance of digital security in keeping my family safe AND in keeping the people I care for safe.

The reality is, we are always being tracked. It's hard to escape. Here are some examples of how your phone could be documenting your abortion experience and what you can do about it.

1) Payment receipts for your abortion or for travel can be emailed to your inbox --> if you have privacy concerns you can make an email account just for your abortion and delete it later.

2) Many period tracking apps store your data AND SELL YOUR DATA --> consider using privacy-driven apps like Euki App (or Clue app!)

3) Your internet search history is saved in your phone's browser and by your internet provider --> if you have privacy concerns, you can use a privacy-driven search engine like DuckDuckGo, install a VPN to "hide" from your ISP, use browsers like Brave, Tor, or Firefox, use a private browsing window, or delete your browser history.

4) Your payment history could be in your banking app or payments app --> if you have privacy concerns you can use cash for in-person visits or use a prepaid gift card for online payments.

5) Many, many, many apps on your phone store AND SELL your location history for ad purposes. This is just GROSS. --> go to your phone settings and turn off location tracking and mobile ad ID

6) Your potentially sensitive messages about your abortion experiences could be stored FOREVER in your messaging app --> use an encrypted chat app, y'all!!! Try Signal or Wire WITH disappearing messages on.
