One of the most confusing things about choosing health plans when you retire is the difference between a Medicare Supplement plan and a Medicare Advantage plan. Supplement- or Medigap plans- pay the 20% of medical expenses that Medicare doesn’t pay. You have the freedom to go to any doctor that accepts Medicare and there are no
networks but there are monthly premiums that increase with age. Advantage- or Part C plans- usually have zero or very low monthly premiums but you have to stay in a network of doctors and specialists.

Many Medicare eligibles get confused between Part A, B, C, and D. In a nutshell, Medicare Part A means insurance for hospitalization, that is, the building itself. Part B covers the doctor you need to see in that hospital and/or your personal physician who treats you out of their office. Part D is insurance for prescription drugs, and Part C blends A+B+D into one comprehensive, managed care plan. At CVC we offer solutions to the vast Medicare puzzle!
