May is Foster Care Month! 🌸

We‘ve learned so much since we started this journey in January and while there feels like there’s a million little steps, we thought we’d break it down into the five big ones! The best part is you can go at your own pace, taking as little as a few months or as long as you need. And there are so many resources at your disposal from WIC to foster health care to childcare coverage to charities that provide items for the kids to respite care when needed.

Going through this process has opened our eyes and while we know there will be challenges ahead, nothing has ever felt more right to us when it comes to starting our family.

It’s getting close! 🥰

The classes have been taken, the home studies have been finished, the mountains of paperwork have been turned in, the nursery has been furnished, the references have been filled out, and the state inspection has been passed!

What’s next? We wait! In 30-60 days, we will have our license and then it can be any moment! We’re so excited to meet our first foster child and we’re trying to get everything we can to be ready for whoever we get to foster!
