Great run this morning. 8 easy miles with my sister, followed by 4 tempo miles on rolling hills and a cool-down mile.
Tempo splits: 6:30, 6:40, 6:42, 6:30.
Humbling and amazing all at once.
After yesterday’s hike, my tendon is definitely letting me know this was a little too much. The balancing act between pushing forward and being smart about recovery is not my favorite game. It’s hard feeling limited by something that seems small but can have a big impact. I just want to run how I want to run… but that’s not always how it works.
So I’m trying to focus on what I can do instead of what I can’t. Just doing my best to get to the Berlin marathon in a place where I can run without damaging my tendon further.
Still enjoyed every mile, especially the hard ones. Those miles have a way of teaching gratitude, patience, and perspective.

But I’m actually saying that…/

This morning was pure summer running perfection. ☀️🏃♀️
I had the best run with my sister, and between the cool temps, beautiful scenery, and good company, it was one of those runs that fills your cup.
I finished with 2 fast miles, 6:14 and 6:16, and honestly, they felt so good. After dealing with this injury, those miles gave me a little hope that maybe I can run fast again someday.
This injury has been incredibly frustrating. It’s still sore, but it’s noticeably better than it was last week, and I’m hoping that’s a sign things are finally moving in the right direction.
For now, I’m celebrating the small wins, soaking up these summer miles, and staying grateful for every step.
How are the temperatures where you are? Are you loving summer running, or counting down the days until fall?
