Moki Dugway looks intimidating in photos, but if conditions are dry and you take it slow, it’s a drive many people are comfortable making. The reward is one of the best views in southern Utah and easy access to some incredible places nearby.

Sometimes the best part of a road trip isn’t the destination. It’s the stretch of road that makes you pull over again… and again.
After six years of traveling full time, I’ve driven some incredible roads across the Southwest. Some are famous, while others hardly anyone talks about, but every one of them is worth taking the slower route.
One of my favorites is saved for the end of this video. I’m curious if you’d make the same choice.

Salt River Canyon is one of those places.
After traveling full time for six years, I’ve learned that the roads nobody talks about are often the ones I remember most. While everyone is heading to Sedona or the Grand Canyon, this drive quietly delivers incredible canyon views, winding mountain roads, and overlook after overlook that make it hard not to stop.
It’s one of those places that leaves you wondering why it isn’t on more road trip itineraries.
