This Fourth of July, tune in to WURD Radio for a full day of special programming marking America's 250th anniversary. Beginning at 7 a.m., start the day with a morning mix from DJ G Flow, followed by powerful conversations and reflections featuring Nikole Hannah-Jones, Errin Haines, Michael Coard, Chris Murray, Solomon Jones, and more. At noon, don't miss a special performance of Frederick Douglass's historic 1852 speech, "What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?" by actor Walter DeShields.

Then from 1 to 7 p.m., WURD presents The 250 Mixtape — a six-hour musical journey through 250 years of Black music. Curated by Tiffany Bacon and DJ Tactics, the program will move through spirituals, gospel, blues, jazz, soul, funk, rock and roll, R&B, hip-hop, and more. Because you can't tell the story of this country without the soundtrack created by Black artists.
