Join us on Sunday, June 7 at 4 PM for the launch of "Recursive Apologies," a new publication from Inventory Press on artist Janet Zweig’s text-generating sculptures from 1990–2010!
First developed in the early 1990s, Zweig’s works used rudimentary algorithms, dot-matrix printers, and mechanical systems to generate continuously shifting texts. "Recursive Apologies" gathers these works in a richly illustrated volume with essays by Thyrza Nichols Goodeve, Jena Osman, and Johanna Drucker.
The event will feature readings by Jena Osman and Thyrza Nichols Goodeve , followed by a conversation and audience Q&A with Janet Zweig, Osman, and Goodeve.
🌟Come early to spend time with one of the iconic pieces from this body of work: Zweig’s 1993 "Mind Over Matter," currently on view at Vox as part of the exhibition MOUTHFUL.🌟
