Another Saturday, another opportunity to show up for our community.
Today Dee, CJ, Angel, Jay, and Riley met up at our usual spot on Somerset. Unfortunately, without pizza this week and with fewer supplies than normal, we loaded up the wagons with what people needed most today... water.
Since several other groups were serving between Allegheny and Somerset, we decided to make our way toward Huntington. With the extreme heat, staying hydrated was a necessity, so we packed the wagons with nearly 200 ice-cold bottles of water, along with a variety of snacks, and made sure our friends had what they needed.
A special shoutout to our homie J, who walked with us for a while and helped hand everything out. Even while facing his own struggles on the streets, he still shows up to help others. That's the kind of heart he has. Please keep him in your prayers.

Another Wednesday, another chance to show up for our community. ❤️
Today, our friends at Caring For Friends loaded us up with all kinds of delicious food to go along with the sandwiches. We're talking fresh danishes, sweet strawberries, and, of course, Tastykakes! We also handed out chips, harm reduction supplies, hygiene items, and other essentials throughout the day.
We did have one funny mishap... Dee forgot to load the water before we left! 😅 With the heat today, water was by far the number one thing people were asking for, so Dee and CJ made a quick stop at a store on the Ave and bought three cases to make sure nobody went without.
We're grateful we weren't the only ones out there today. It was great seeing our friends at Savage Sisters serving alongside the community, and as always, Prevention Point was out there working nonstop, helping people with compassion and dedication.
It takes all of us. Every organization, every volunteer, every supporter, and every donation makes a difference. Thank you to Caring For Friends for helping us make today a little brighter for so many people, and thank you to everyone who continues to stand beside us in this work.
We'll see everyone back out there this Saturday! ❤️

Today's outreach reminded us why we do this. ❤️🥵
The extreme heat wasn't going to keep us off the streets.
Since one of the AA groups hosts their annual 4th of July cookout at The Last Stop every year, we decided to set up there briefly to make sure anyone who comes looking for us every Saturday could still find us. We knew everyone at the cookout was already being taken care of, so instead of staying in one place, we loaded up the wagons and coolers and hit the streets where people were still trying to survive this dangerous heat.
Today we distributed: 💧 250+ ice-cold waters 🥪 100 meals ❤️ Harm reduction supplies
We walked from Somerset to Indiana Avenue, checking on as many people as we could, before heading back to the car to reload our coolers with more cold water. Then we made our way over to Huntington, continuing to check on everyone we know and meeting plenty of new faces along the way.
Along the way, we also filled an entire 55-gallon trash bag with litter. Kensington deserves to be cared for, and every little bit helps. Outreach isn't just about handing out supplies—it's about showing love and respect for the community in every way we can.
The heat was absolutely brutal. We saw so many people we care about doing everything they could just to stay cool and make it through another day. Days like today remind us how important it is to simply show up.
The best news of the day? Two people made the decision to go to detox. We were able to help both of them get there safely, and we couldn't be happier for them. We wish them nothing but success, and we'll be here cheering them on every step of the way. We can't wait to hear from them.
One of the most meaningful moments today came from this letter we received from Rachel, someone we recently helped while she was in rehab. She wrote:
"Thank you for the items you sent. They were perfect. Good luck in your new venture. God bless you."
Moments like this remind us that even the smallest act of kindness can leave a lasting impact. Rachel, thank you for taking the time to write to us. Your words meant more than you know, and we're so proud of you. Keep moving forward—we're all rooting for you.
