We loved celebrating the Drexel Pilates Grand Opening with you!
The afternoon began with a ribbon cutting surrounded by students, faculty, alumni, and community members. We then moved into a thoughtful panel discussion with Director Jennifer Morley on The Pilates Teacher’s Toolkit, and wrapped up with live Reformer demonstrations, offering intro sessions to new clients.

Setting up for success: Powerful planks and push-ups
with Patricia Dominguez
Sunday May 17, 2026
9:00-12:00 PM
Cost: $65
A two topic workshop:
part I: Understanding shoulder function and integration and how it relates to planks and push ups.
part II: Building classes and sessions that support executing the desired activity with success.
What does success mean? For Patricia Dominguez it is finding deep integration of the full body that supports all actions. By understanding the function of the body, we can draw from any number of tools we have in our toolbox of exercises to create a lesson plan that brings our clients to a deeper level of integration. We will use planks and push-ups as our focus activity. (Patricia has been using the term scaffolding, for building a systematic way of lesson planning, hoping that it will in effect build the deeper network of integration in the clients to be used for all activities.) Participants are encouraged to participate in movements, accommodations can be addressed for those needed. A great workshop for those who want to continue the exciting conversation of the shoulder girdle that Karen Carlson started this past fall. Patricia is a Drexel alumni under Jennifer Morely and has been studying with Karen Carlson since 2017.
