Over the past 8 years I've had thousands of coaching calls with clients all over the world who are pursuing all different kinds of goals. Some of these people reach their goals quickly, others reach their goals slowly and some, never at all.

Here are 5 things that the successful ones have in common.

1. They take action before they feel ready. These people recognize that "ready" is a decision, not a feeling and they're comfortable moving in the "right direction" without specific guarantees.

2. They seek out and surround themselves with people who are on the same path, especially people who are further along the path that they want to be on. These people seek out help.

3. They recognize that energy is contagious and therefore, these people protect their energy. This often looks like setting and maintaining boundaries with other people (and with themselves).

4. They are consistent and reliable with the effort they put forward. These people are not robots and they do have bad days BUT they never put a "zero" on the scoreboard because they understand how little by little, little becomes a lot.

5. They HAVE FUN while they do hard things

“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.” - Francois Auguste De Chateaubriand

Do hard things.
