Speed Bump Brewery

I didn't think that I was going to be brewing again for quite a while. After a trip to the Malt House, I decided to brew a Vienna beer for the Malt House / Earth Bread Brewery Homebrew contest.
I'm giving myself a challenge... I will be making a Vienna SMASH beer! Single Malt Single Hop!

It's a little chilly today folks! But brewing outside in near freezing temperatures is how we do it in Manayunk.

We are brewing the most coveted of all the Speed Bump beers today... RED BOX RYE!!

This tasty beer will be entered in the Dad's Hat Rye Whiskey Homebrew Contest. Wish us luck!

Sorry I lost touch with you guys! I was on Sandy clean-up duty for the past week. The family is fine but my Dad's house is an absolute mess! Slowly but surely, we are getting it back in order.

Enough about Sandy... back to brewery news!

Class'n Session Ale is about to be moved into Secondary! It should be ready to drink by Thanksgiving!

I had to hold off on brewing the Belgian Stout. We will be brewing it this Sunday YTM Home Brew Club's Big Brew Day! This will be ready by Christmas!

Another beer that we will be brewing for the Holidays... "Bad, Bad Leroy" Brown Ale. This will be a Brown Ale (duhhh) that is hopped with an insane amount of Centennial and Simcoe hops!

I am planning on posting some pictures from the brewday on Sunday. Prost!

Speed Bump's brewhouse is only about 80 Sq Ft.! Once I am through with it, it may be as little as 35 Sq Ft.!

Flavor is not a product of square footage!

"The Omen" Belgian Imperial Stout will be brewed today and will be ready to enjoy by Halloween!

If I can clear it with the wife... Speed Bump Brewery may have a Halloween event this year!

Kegged and Carbed! Todd's Blue Heaven Bitter and Calabaza Mas Fina!

Right now, enjoying a pint of the ESB. It's kinda AWESOME!

Golden Straw Colored! Earthy, Herbal Aroma! Bready, Nutty Malt Character! Finished off with a nice amount of Hop Bitterness!

It's funny how a beer with so few ingredients can be so complex!
