Clifford Berryman drew this portrait of Punxsutawney Phil for the Washington Evening Star in 1909, but fans of "Groundhog Day" might think of Phil Conners and his grumpy behavior in the 1993 movie.

In "The Groundhog Up to Date," Berryman shows the groundhog on Groundhog Day as he grows weary of his prophecy duties and walks off carrying an umbrella--hiding his shadow so that he can't predict whether or not we'll have six more weeks of winter.
