American History is incomplete without Black History. The great accomplishments of prominent black figures such as Katherine Johnson (The NASA Mathematician, depicted on the right, who fought discrimination and segregation with a ruler and pencil) have impacted, and will continue to impact Americans for generations to come. It is through the tenacity, courage, and love from our many black civil rights leaders, that has allowed Americans of all colors and creeds to come together as one people. However, the fight is not over. There is still work to be done. As the month concludes, we continue to draw inspiration from the tenacity, courage, and love they fought with, and we continue the good fight against hate and intolerance.

As this month draws to a close, we would like to recognize some more recent Black History. Specifically, four Oscar nominated films that have made a tremendous impact in our community through their themes and conscious messages, and we encourage our followers to take the time out to enjoy them as well: Moonlight (A story of human self-discovery and connection, involves a young black man from childhood to adulthood struggle to find his place in the world), Hidden Figures (The story of a team of African-American women mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA), Fences (A working-class African-American father tries to raise his family in the 1950s), and Loving (The story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an in*******al couple, whose marriage led to a legal battle that would end at the US Supreme Court).
