Feel the rhythm and celebrate culture through Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena!
In this interactive residency, students explore the history, music, and movement of two of Puerto Rico's most vibrant traditions. Through drumming, dance, call-and-response, and hands-on participation, they gain a deeper appreciation for Afro-Puerto Rican culture while having fun every step of the way.

A Musicopia program in the news! 🎬
We’re proud of the West Powelton Steppers & Drum Squad who were honored for their 35th anniversary with the renaming of the 4100 block of Powelton Ave. We are so proud to support such a legendary ensemble that continues to show up for young people in West Philadelphia through music, movement, and community. 💜
