Throwback Thursday to teaser Tuesday in Thailand (that’s almost a tongue twister!) Although many Pilates exercises like the teaser may not seem functional at first glance, the latest pilates research published by Carrasco-poyatos Et. Al. (just last week!) shows that Pilates is significantly better than traditional muscular strengthening programs in improving functional conditions and cognitive function in older women. However, this study favored traditional strengthening for static balance in older women. _________________________________________________

Did you know Van Gogh’s “A Starry Night” included a teaser?! 😜 A 2011 study by Phrompaet et. al. shows pilates exercises such as the teaser significantly improve lumbopelvic stability and flexibility. This is partially due to frequent dynamic stretches which talks about in her blog post we are publishing this week! Stay tuned 🤓
