Tamman Inc.
Today we celebrate 35 Years of the ADA 🎉
On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became law, a milestone in the disability rights movement and a critical step toward a more just and accessible world.
But the ADA was a milestone, not the finish line.
At Tamman, we know that accessibility is not just about ramps and elevators; it’s about dignity, opportunity, and equity across every part of life, including the digital spaces we all rely on.
Today, we celebrate the ADA and honor the advocates who made it possible; AND we are reminded that there is still a lot of work to do.
So, we ask you: What are you doing to create a more inclusive and equitable future?
At Tamman, we remain steadfast in our mission to build a digital world that includes everyone.

Earlier this year, Slack pushed out an update that left Kristen Witucki, a blind writer and educator at Tamman, unable to read or send messages. What seemed like a minor tweak to most users became a critical breakdown in her ability to work.
In this reflection, Kristen shares what that moment felt like. Not just the technical barrier, but the emotional toll, the need to advocate, and the importance of being surrounded by colleagues who didn’t just sympathize, but took action.
This isn’t a story about Slack. It’s a story about how fragile accessibility can be, how vital persistence is, and how inclusive design is an ongoing commitment.
Whether you build digital tools or use assistive tech, Kristen’s story is a reminder that inclusion is ongoing and is everyone’s responsibility! Read her full reflection ⬇️
