Believe it or not, I have joined the 19th Century by becoming active on Instagram! I intend to regularly post images of the projects we are currently working on and some interesting images from the archive. Today is a special day, 50 years in the making. It was in early June, 1974 that I graduated college and set out on my own. I did not really know anybody, never had a job as an assistant and had no idea as to what I was getting myself into. How in God's name I lasted this long is anybody's guess. When I started, there was no real future being considered, I was just trying to get to the next assignment.

After a few years, I found other photographers would tell me that things were easier for me than it was for them. Because of my reputation, I had an easier time getting the better assignments. I did not know what they meant. I had to work my ass off to get everything I got. If others thought that my creative talent was unmatched, they were totally mistaken. My super-power was my determination - my desire to never be outworked. I never stopped trying to be better and to do better work. That is still my secret after 50 years and will be my advantage over the next 50 years.
