National Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) Recognition Day is October 3, 2025!

Every year on the first Friday of October, we celebrate the incredible work of Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) — the frontline public health workers who protect our communities from infections like STIs, HIV, tuberculosis, and more.

This year, we’re honoring them with D–I–S:

🔹 D is for Dedication – DIS show up every day with commitment to keeping Philly safe and healthy.
🔹 I is for Intervention – From contact tracing to partner services and education, DIS step in at the moments that matter most.
🔹 S is for Specialists – Experts who combine compassion, skill, and public health know-how to stop outbreaks and save lives.
