Після того, як президент України Володимир Зеленський відкинув низку положень підготовленого Вашингтоном плану врегулювання українського конфлікту, прогрес у мирних переговорах за участю США, Європи та Києва тепер видається малоймовірним, пише The Wall Street Journal. Зокрема, Зеленський «відкинув пропозицію США визнати контроль Росії над Кримом як частину угоди про припинення вогню, поставивши під сумнів зусилля президента Трампа щодо припинення війни», - йдеться у публікації. На думку газети, така позиція Зеленського «перекреслює останній крок президента Трампа щодо припинення війни в Україні (...) і створює нову невизначеність у майбутньому відносин між Києвом і Вашингтоном, які Трамп поставив у залежність від швидкої угоди». Втім, речниця Білого дому Керолайн Левітт заявила журналістам, що посол переговорів у Лондоні все одно намагатиметься їх організувати.

After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected a number of provisions of a plan prepared by Washington to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, progress in peace talks involving the United States, Europe and Kyiv now seems unlikely, The Wall Street Journal writes. In particular, Zelenskyy “rejected a U.S. proposal to recognize Russia's control of Crimea as part of a cease-fire agreement, casting doubt on President Trump's efforts to end the war,” the publication says. According to the newspaper, Zelensky's position “undermines President Trump's latest move to end the war in Ukraine (...) and creates new uncertainty about the future of relations between Kyiv and Washington, which Trump has made dependent on a quick deal.” However, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt told reporters that the ambassador to London would still try to organize the talks.

При цьому більше половини опитаних (54%) заявили, що ця традиція для них настільки важлива, що вони не мають наміру відмовлятися від неї за жодних обставин. Важливо зазначити, що зростання цін на курячі яйця в США досить значне - за останні два роки їхня вартість зросла в сім разів. У зв'язку з цим, багато великих мереж роздрібної торгівлі продуктами харчування були змушені ввести тимчасові обмеження на кількість яєць, які може придбати один покупець.
