Happy Women’s History Month!

This month and every month, we honor and celebrate the women who paved the way and recognize the work still ahead. Throughout history, women’s voices have driven progress. In Philadelphia, women have been vital in shaping both our history and our future in every corner of the city.

Women’s history is not just about the past. It’s about lifting as we climb, continuing to break barriers, open doors, and lay a smooth path for the women behind us.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his lifelong fight to secure civil rights, dignity, and equal opportunity for all people with a day of service.

Civil rights are not abstract ideals. They are lived realities. That understanding guides my work every day as Mayor. When we fight to make Philadelphia safer, we are advancing the unfinished work of civil rights in this city.

Join me in honoring his legacy through service or reflection, and recommit to building a city where civil rights, opportunity, and dignity reach every neighborhood.

I’m proud to share that we are seeing real results in real people’s lives. Our Riverview Wellness Village is fulfilling its promise: creating new opportunities for recovery, stability, and a brighter future for people with histories of substance use disorder and homelessness.

Riverview reflects what is possible when we prioritize people and work together, and I couldn’t be more proud to see these results and hopeful for what comes next.
