Welcome Cincinnati Children’s Emergency Department to NEAR4PEM! In the words of site PI Dr. Preston Dean, “Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care to all patients, including those with critical illness requiring tracheal intubation. Joining NEAR4PEM will allow us to learn from, and share ideas with, global leaders in pediatric airway management. We are excited for what the future of emergency pediatric airway management holds, as we continue to strive to make this low-frequency, high-risk procedure as safe as possible.”

NEAR4PEM is a new subgroup of our international, multi-center collaborative for pediatric airway safety. The group is building a PEM airway bundle and looking to add collaborating sites! Contact or for more information

The National Emergency Airway Registry for Children (NEAR4KIDS) is a multi-center, prospective registry for advanced airway management in Pediatric ICUs. The primary goal of the project is to improve advanced airway management practice for critically-ill children.
