Indian River Ambulance Service

Welcome to National EMS Week! This is the chance to celebrate all the people who work tirelessly to serve.
It is often said, "I couldn't do what you do" or "I bet you see some bad stuff." Let's look at it this way instead. "I'm glad you have the ability to do what you do" and "I bet you see some wonderful things."
The people who work in EMS try not to dwell on the negative. They are proud to have the education and skill to serve people. Many would rather remember the good things than to be reminded of the bad. The helping an elderly person who has slipped and fallen. A person who has had a bad day. Who wouldn't want to remember the birth of a beautiful child.
Most in EMS do so without a strong need to be praised with accolades. The quiet thank you is all that is needed.
When you see someone who works in EMS this week is the perfect time to give them an smile and say, thank you.
Attached are the first of the gifts the providers at IRAS have received. The big banner, tasty cupcakes and the cute Positive Potato boxes from Brianna Daniels.

The numbers are in from our latest American Red Cross Blood Drive, held Friday, April 17.
16 units collected. Two first time donors, five type O donors and four power red donors!
Out of the 19 registered only three deferrals.
The next Indian River Ambulance Blood Drive will be in the Antwerp American Legion in early July.
Thank you for your donation. You are a lifesaver!
