How you can best assist a victim/survivor in your life ⬆️

Women are not the only survivors who experience these things after abuse. I have noticed men often question why they are feeling certain feelings after an assault, wondering why they can’t “man up” and “just be ok”: men and boys experience anxiety, sadness, and depression too. These are common human reactions after abuse and are NOTHING to be ashamed of. It can be difficult, but please know, you are allowed to feel these feelings no matter what our society and community has taught us over the years.
