Back when I was a restaurant marketer, my favorite day to work was Veterans Day.
We served free meals to Vets & were on our toes all day.
I would gather pictures to display (the first two pictures are my Grandpa’s) & set up the Fallen Soldier Table, always silently crying as I did it.
After things were set up, I’d deliver cards made by elementary school kids to tables, take pictures, & talk with Vets.
The energy in the air was different in a good way.
Don't forget to thank a Veteran today. 🇺🇸

Highly recommend taking your work somewhere new!
I’m in a very busy season of work (and life) right now learning & preparing for many new things.
Getting out of my usual space to work, drink chai, & read a book was a huge brain booster especially with these huge windows letting in all the sun! ☀️

You're going to want to know these!
In 1984, American Psychologist Robert Cialdini released his book "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion." In it, he discusses the six principles of persuasion that have been used by thousands of people & companies across the world, whether or not they're aware of it.
Even if you don't intentionally use them, they're at play in your life daily.
1. Reciprocity: You know those free downloads available on websites? How many let you download the file without entering an email address? Very few.
2. Commitment: Target DriveUp is an excellent example of this. You might not like Target (gasp!), but you keep going back because you've done it before & it's easy. The app saves your orders & with a few clicks, you can easily order the same things again.
3. Social Proof: Influencers don't tell you to subscribe for fun. They do it to grow their following & show others what they can do.
4. Authority: Doctors don't put "Dr." in front of their names for fun. It's to show they've completed the education required & have the expertise to be advising you.
5. Liking: How often do you buy something because you like the person selling it? If you're like me, a lot.
6. Scarcity: Raise your hand if you've been at Costco & bought the last taco kit, not knowing if that's what you want but scared some will take it if you don't. ✋
What other examples of these principles can you think of?
