Closing out Caribbean American Heritage Month, we're highlighting Tim Weah, a professional soccer player for the U.S. Men's National Team.
Weah has represented the United States on some of the biggest stages in soccer, including the FIFA World Cup, where he scored the U.S. Men's National Team's first World Cup goal in eight years during the 2022 tournament. Throughout his career, he has won multiple Concacaf Nations League titles and established himself as a dynamic and versatile player at both the club and international levels.
Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Weah remains committed to giving back. In 2026, he partnered with youth soccer organizations in Queens, New York, to host a free community event that brought together young players and families through the beautiful game of soccer. He has also worked to increase access to the sport and create opportunities for young people to engage with the game.
As we celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month, we recognize Tim Weah's achievements and the positive impact he continues to make both on and off the field. His journey demonstrates that leadership extends beyond the game and into the communities we serve!

Closing out pride month, we're highlighting Quinn, a professional soccer player whose impact on the game extends far beyond the field!
Quinn made history as the highest-drafted Canadian in NWSL history when they were selected third overall by the Washington Spirit in the 2018 NWSL Draft. They went on to spend six seasons with Seattle Reign FC, making more than 80 appearances and helping the club capture the 2022 NWSL Shield. Throughout their professional career, Quinn has been recognized for their leadership, consistency, and ability to elevate those around them.
On the international stage, Quinn has represented Canada at multiple FIFA Women's World Cups and three Olympic Games. They helped Canada win a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics and played a key role in Canada's historic gold medal-winning run at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
When Canada won its first-ever Olympic gold medal in soccer, Quinn became the first openly transgender and nonbinary athlete to win an Olympic medal of any color. Their visibility has helped create greater representation in sports and has inspired countless young people to embrace who they are with confidence and pride!
At Starfinder, we believe every young person deserves to bring their full self to the field, be celebrated for who they are, and feel a true sense of belonging. Join us in celebrating Quinn and the many LGBTQ+ athletes who continue to inspire the next generation through sport!
We are so grateful to Mayor Cherelle L. Parker! This opportunity has the power to shift perspective in a way that can last a lifetime!! ⚽️ 🇨🇼🇨🇮
