Roger Q. Mason, Eboni Booth, Sarah Mantell Will Headline Democracy in Action New Play Conference The annual event is a project of Philadelphia-based PlayPenn.

After 12 weeks of writing and development a national cohort of artists will take the stage to share excerpts from original solo works, the culminating public presentation of PlayPenn’s new Solo Show Writing & Performance Intensive, led by PlayPenn Artistic Director Che'Rae Adams.

Audiences will have the opportunity to experience new theatrical voices and compelling personal stories brought to life in a live performance setting.

Featured playwrights include Ray Brahmi, Allison Orr Block, Faith Campbell, Sarah Cosgrove Gaumond, Walter Dodd, Mathilde Dratwa, Elise Forier Edie, Oz Johnson-Congleton, Madeline McCrae, Maggie O'Connell, Juan Ramirez, Jr., Mariah Reed, and Marguerite Louise Scott.
