As of March 22nd, 2024, Scott Integrated Pain Management is closed to the practice of pain medicine. You can always email Dr. Scott at [email protected] for questions relating to your care at ScottPain. We are updating our phone system to make requests for medical records more straightforward, but we ask for your patience as we have had literally hundreds of record requests and filling each one can take a few weeks.

If you are a chronic pain patient: Thank you so much for working with us and putting your trust in us. We are so sorry to be closing when we know there continues to be so much need.

If you are a mental health patient: We are pleased to announce that Dr. Scott will continue working at the same office with a new practice called Axon Psychiatry. We can continue any existing mental health treatment plan. Please call the office or email Dr. Scott to get scheduled. For Axon Psychiatry you may call 610-697-9885. You may also call Scott Integrated Pain Management at 215-825-5979.

Axon Psychiatry accepts most major medical insurances including Medicare and some certain Medicaid plans.

In addition to the services previously offered by Scott Integrated Pain Management for mental health disorders, Axon Psychiatry will add the following additional treatment option:

1) Psychiatry and Medication Management

2) IV ketamine for depression

- Unfortunately, we are no longer offering ketamine or any infusion treatments for acute or chronic pain

3) Spravato (nasal esketamine) - Generic ketamine is a 50/50 mixture of two mirror image molecules - R-ketamine and esketamine. Spravato is a nasal spray containing esketamine that is FDA approved to treat Depression.

4) Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) - What is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation? Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific areas of the brain.

IV vs Intranasal Ketamine: Which is Best? 06/05/2023

Thanks to Megan Brooks from Medscape for reporting our research presented last week at the American Psychiatric Association meeting. Increasing access to medically necessary treatment remains a core value for our practice and while more research is always warranted we are please to report that IV ketamine while not FDA approved for depression like nasal esketamine, seems to be at least as effective and 1/6 the cost.

IV vs Intranasal Ketamine: Which is Best? There is no difference in the efficacy of IV ketamine and its intranasal counterpart for treatment-resistant depression, but cost and the speed of effect may be the factors that determine treatment choice.
