Karbach Brewing Co. Hopadillo was a gateway IPA for me and still a reggie in the rotation.

Sits at 6.6%ABV and you can pick up on a 19.2oz tall boy on a random Tuesday.

Although it’s a Texas classic, it delivers an aggressive West Coast bitterness and zero pretension.

What was your first IPA?

I wanted to make sure I found a local IPA while hanging out in DC so I hit up a local bodega.

Nice clerk pointed me to Steady Eddie by UNION Craft Brewing which sits at 7% ABV Wheat IPA that finishes with a drinkable crisp honey malt without harsh bitterness.

Always trust the neighborhood bodega clerk since the BeerAdvocate reviews explained the recommendation.

Bodega is the equivalent of tienditas here in the RGV.
