The Uvalde Fire Department would like to welcome our newest probationary firefighter, Gracie the Giraffe!

After being reported missing in Real County earlier today, Gracie was quickly recruited due to her unique qualifications for elevated operations. Officials report she is already assisting crews with roof inspections, aerial observations, and reaching places no ladder can.

Please join us in welcoming Firefighter Gracie to the team. We ask the public not to feed her while she’s on duty. 🦒🔥🚒
