Accountability Citizenship

Today, April 19th, is the 251st anniversary of the Battle of Lexington, which is generally considered the beginning of the American Revolution. The attached photograph shows two pins commemorating the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizenship Award. The larger pin was awarded to my mother when she graduated from high school in Rumson, NJ in 1939. The other pin was awarded to me when I graduated from high school in Las Cruces, NM, in 1979. My parents taught me the values I associate with good citizenship, and I try to live by those values. That endeavor led me to publish my first book, Accountability Citizenship, in 2013. The purpose of Accountability Citizenship is to build and sustain communities of positive, informed and engaged citizens.
