Delivering this news is bittersweet. You know, when I started my skincare company over a decade ago as KaliBean, I didn’t really know where it was going. All I knew was I had a passion for plants and making herbal skincare products was how I embodied that on a daily basis. Doing live events, creating new formulations, continuing to advance my skills, it was all a wave I was riding, and I didn’t give much thought to the long game.

Now that I’ve had my daughter, or birthed my second child since I consider my business my first, my perspective has shifted dramatically. Any of you out there who are mothers or parents, I’m sure you can understand how juggling the work life balance is humbling, to say the least. With the rebrand that took place in late 2022 I was really trying to position Poppy Botanicals to meet the demand of the industry, to play the bigger game, and unfortunately after going into debt in the process and having a really bad year in 2023, the message is clear that it is time to close our doors.

For me, coming to this realization was actually a huge relief, and then came the follow up of not knowing how to even begin to communicate this message to all of you, my devoted customers and friends. Many of you have been supporting my brand for a very, very long time, you know who you are. By the end it felt like almost every time I packed an order and put it in the mail I had a personal relationship with the person receiving it on the other end. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for seeing the integrity in my formulations and keeping my business alive for all these years.
